i think he's sliiiightly weaker as a farmer compared to athel, but he makes up for it by carrying pre-mino CB teams alongside an outlaw monk or two. Athel is not only a dedicated farmer, but also excels in CB. Kael is a beast for most of the early and midgame. but he is a beast at CB and Fire Knight, so you should plan on taking him 6* eventually.
while investing in him would be alright, he's mainly just there to GS and debuff a bit.
